SEPTEMBER 2009
09/03/09 - RFC Board Meeting
09/17/09 - RFC monthly meeting is in the basement of the American Legion in down town Astoria. This month will be Tie With a Master and
we will be tying the REVERSED SPIDER and COHO – GREEN FLY.
Chuck requests those interested in tying to bring your own hooks. He will help with the material. He didn’t give info on how to fish these
flies but I’m sure he will elaborate at the meeting. The spider variations are very effective flies for sea-run cutthroat and the Coho green is obviously good for silver salmon. See you at the meeting.
09/19/09 - We made a change. We are moving the fall picnic to Sunset Sands Park on the north end of Loomis Lake on the Washington side. According to Dave Johnson, the park is better equipped for our needs – its got a roofed BBQ, complete kitchen, bathrooms, big screen TV, fireplace, seating area and a neat play area for kids and grandkids which includes a slide, jungle gym and swings and a casting area for our tournament/competition. Maps and directions will be available at the September meeting. This is an excellent opportunity to bring a friend and to hopefully help our club grow.
